Crisis Council - Components Update & Playtesting

Another Day, Another Update!

Before I get into my weekend I wanted to update you all on what I spoke on just a few days ago. I was able to get playtesters faster than expected, and that's not all, I even got all of the components finished up too (including the rulebook)! So let's quickly look at some of this stuff from the BASIC game. It'll still be a bit before I can upload this update for both free and paid versions, but all this time in the oven is going toward making the product even better with each pass.

The New Table Aid

You guys can see in the last update that my mock up of a table aid was lackluster at best. However, it conveyed the general information as a (very) rough concept image. I am proud to show you the final version here now:

Crisis Council Table Aid

As you can see this is a MASSIVE improvement. I'm using a die to represent the Threat Level, you do so by spinning it up or down based on actions taken in play. Then of course we have the new Civil Unrest Track where discarded dice go to add to the tension of the game. Finally a place for all the policy cards that doubles as a handy round summary as you play the game. As you go, you cover up the Policy slots which gets rid of the unneeded information. This was extremely well received in playtesting, even for the BASIC games I was running where you don't use the Policy cards even. Overall, I'm quite pleased with this in particular.

Let's See Some Cards!

Below you'll see a copy of the role cards used in the revised version of the BASIC rules. The first is a Council Member's card while the second is The Mayor's (both front and back provided):

Council Role for BASIC Game

Council Role Back

BASIC Mayor Role

A note on the Mayor role specifically, this looks grainy on the upload but the actual card itself looks fine. I'm not sure why this specific card had an issue uploading...

For Now, That's it!

Just a quick update so you could see the progress I'm making. Lots of great feedback that's already been incorporated after just a few testing sessions. Please look forward to the final product which I'm sure you will enjoy given the chance.
